Bentley Priory is best known for its pivotal role as Headquarters Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain in 1940, and the Museum tells the story of ‘The One’, Air Chief Marshal Sir Hugh Dowding, ‘The Few’, the Battle of Britain aircrew who took to the air to defend our skies, and ‘The Many’, without whose tireless work on the ground victory would not have been possible.
A live audio described handling session on Saturday 1st October at 10.30am will bring alive the stories of some of ‘The Few’ - the Battle of Britain aircrew who courageously flew and fought between July and October 1940 to ensure that Britain was not invaded by Nazi Germany.
