Venue Information: Donmar Warehouse
The Donmar Warehouse is situated on Earlham Street next to the Thomas Neal’s Shopping Centre and opposite Belgo Centraal.
If you are arriving by bus, numbers 14, 19, 24, 29, 38 and 176 – all stop at Cambridge Circus. To get to the theatre from Cambridge Circus, head northeast along Shaftesbury Avenue - Earlham Street is the second on the right.
If you are coming by underground, the nearest tube is Covent Garden on the Piccadilly line. From the platform, a lift brings you up to ground level, rather than the escalators used in many underground stations.
From the station exit, turn left and cross at the pedestrian crossing. Turn right once across the road, then almost immediately left into the pedestrianised Neal Street. At the end of this short section, another pedestrian crossing takes you to the bottom end of Earlham Street. Bare diagonally left for about a hundred metres and the theatre is on your right.
There is one main entrance - with one step leading up to hinged half glass doors. There is also a side entrance leading into Thomas Neal’s Shopping Centre.
When you enter through the main doors, you can collect your tickets from the Box Office, which is straight ahead of you.
Please note that the foyer narrows between the front doors and the box office - as it passes the central staircase - and can become very crowded prior to a performance.
Your headset can be collected in the Stalls bar on the first floor. If you would like to listen to the introductory notes, you should collect your headset in good time to take your seat 15 minutes before the start of the performance. Braille, large print cast lists and large print programmes will also be available here.
To get to the stalls level there is a staircase or a lift.
The lift is to the right of the Box Office and is shared with Thomas Neal’s shopping centre. To use it please ask a member of the Box Office to turn it around to the theatre side.
The staircase leads up to both stalls and circle levels. There are 26 steps from the foyer to the stalls and another 23 steps from the stalls to the circle.
The stalls level is basically circular - with the lift shaft in the centre. At the top of the stairs bear left for the bar and, through the bar, the toilets. There is an accessible toilet on the Circle level.
There is also another bar at circle level. Both bars are open half an hour before performance time.
The auditorium is modern - seating 251 people on stalls and circle levels. The seating is bench seating which surrounds three-sides of a wide rectangular stage.
The stalls entrance on the first floor brings you into auditorium at the back - where a dimly lit passageway runs along behind the seating. Staff will be available to show you to your seat.
For the circle entrance, carry on up the 23 stairs, or use the lift - to the second floor.
Please note that this information has been supplied by the venue and although every effort has been made to check details, you may still have some queries. In this case, we would ask you to contact the theatre direct for clarification.
