DVD: VocalEyes - describing the arts

dvd_title_media_page_version

In 2007 VocalEyes produced a DVD showing what it is like going to an audio described performance from the point of view of blind and partially sighted theatre goers and what it takes to put on an audio described performance.

The main part of the DVD focuses on our audio described performance of ‘Tom and Viv’ at the Almeida Theatre in London.

The DVD looks at the whole experience, from booking tickets to the audio described performance itself, showing how the enjoyment is enhanced when the service includes pre-show introductory notes, sent out prior to the performance, a touch tour of the set, and a wholly involved theatre staff, the kind of provision which VocalEyes encourages and supports.

VocalEyes would like to thank everyone at the Almeida Theatre for their help and support with the production of the DVD, especially Michael Attenborough and the cast and crew of ‘Tom and Viv’.

The DVD was produced by Keith Wootton from PeakTime Media and VocalEyes would like to thank Keith for all his hard work on the DVD.
